A few times a year Gospel-Centered Discipleship releases a new book. We did this a few weeks ago with the title The Gospel Waltz: Experiencing the Transformational Power of Grace by Bob Flayhart and Holly Mackle. The authors describe the book as “an unapologetic treatise on grace, not shying away from theological truth but processing it through the lens of a simple and highly memorable tool for a life lived abiding in Christ.” The book will help you “take hold of the gospel in everyday life and appreciate the transformational and refreshing power of unrelenting grace.”
I love this vision of the Christian life, a life of dance not drudgery. Bob talks about this in the recent excerpt we ran from the book. It’s a beautiful story of a grandpa dancing with his granddaughter and the way God wants to do this with all his children. During that one dance with his granddaughter, Bob writes, “I learned so much about the Father’s heart toward me as his child. In fact, I experienced more of the doctrines of grace, justification, and adoption than I have learned in years of study and preaching.”
If you feel like your Christian life has hit a rut, and you’ve been simply grinding through life from Sunday to Sunday, perhaps The Gospel Waltz will help you restore your joy in the Lord.

The Gospel Waltz: Book Launch
Bob Flayhart and Holly Mackle
Gospel-Centered Discipleship is excited to announce the launch of our latest book: The Gospel Waltz: Experiencing the Transformational Power of Grace by Bob Flayhart.
“My heart sings as I read Bob’s words. In this book he takes us beyond facile or formulaic articulations of the Christian life in which our performance always seems to slip in as the key ingredient to calm and joy. Instead Bob plunges our hearts into the deep and wondrous truths of the biblical gospel where Jesus and his grace for ongoing sinners is so real that our cynicism and hardness and discouragement don’t stand a chance! Thank you for helping me to repent, believe, and fight, Bob!”
Dane Ortlund, author of Gentle and Lowly and Pastor of Naperville Presbyterian Church
The Gospel Waltz is an unapologetic treatise on grace, not shying away from theological truth but processing it through the lens of a simple and highly memorable tool for a life lived abiding in Christ. Through the accessible paradigm of repent, believe, and fight, the Waltz offers a framework to take hold of the gospel in everyday life and appreciate the transformational and refreshing power of unrelenting grace.
