“Dad, I shot a big buck!” Even through the phone, I could tell the adrenaline was still pumping through my son’s veins. “I’ll be there soon,” I told him. Together, we tracked the deer and found him not far away.
Earlier that day, I met up with an old friend at the local Chinese buffet. He shared his struggles as a traveling artist trying to find enough gigs to support the family, and I shared how difficult it was to feed a family of seven with the astronomical rise in grocery prices. Even with our struggles, we both concluded: “The Lord has continued to provide.”
As I took a picture with my son behind his latest harvest, I couldn’t help but thank the Lord for providing once again. Not only has he given me this special moment with my son, but he has provided more meat for our freezer. Last year, we harvested enough deer to feed our family all year long, and now we are refilling our depleted stock. Our grocery bill is still high, but it would be much higher if we were buying meat for seven people.
Whatever need you have today, be encouraged that our Lord sees it and has more than enough resources to meet it. And, he’s a good God who desires to do so. Praise God for his provision!

Three Things My Autistic Daughter Has Taught Me About Evangelism
by Vicki Bentley
“Whether you feel at home evangelizing in a public forum or prefer quietly coming alongside others to support them in their relationship with Christ, there is room for all of us. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12, ‘Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful.’”
How Pondering Death Fuels Our Faith

“But reflecting on our mortality can be a healthy tool to fan the flame of our faith. The author of the book of Ecclesiastes puts it this way, ‘It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart’ (7:2).”
The Saving Grace of God
by Paul David Tripp
“Romans 3:20 is one of the most humbling passages in the Bible. It crushes human pride. It makes it impossible for us to continue to caress the delusion that we can perform our way into a relationship with God. It lets us know that our best track record of obedience falls woefully short of God’s holy requirement.”
