Writers Who Make, Mature, and Multiply Disciples of Jesus.
GCD Newsletter – Monday, October 3, 2022
Writers who make, mature, and multiply disciples of Jesus.
I’ve been working for GCD for almost two years and partnering with them on freelance work for twice that time. One of my favorite aspects of our ministry is the emphasis on developing writers. We’re not simply interested in publishing words that make, mature, and multiply disciples for Jesus but in developing writers who can do that better and better over their whole life.
Sure, we love it when the writers we pour into are able to send us better and better articles, but we also rejoice to see our writers published on other websites. For example, just last week, Wendy Willard, one of the members of our Writers’ Guild, had an article published by The Gospel Coalition called Don’t Know How to Help? Try Visiting.
Timarie Friesen recently interviewed me, and GCD posted it on our website last week. We talked about a number of topics but especially about how to pitch articles to editors. Pitching articles is talked about so infrequently, that I also made it the subject of a new Writers’ Coaching Corner video. You can find links to both the interview and the video below.
All this writing about writing is very “meta,” I know, but I love it. Even if writing about writing doesn’t bless you as much as it blesses me, I hope you can find encouragement in knowing that those who write on our website take the calling and craft of writing for God’s glory seriously.

Join the Writers’ Guild
If you’d like to join a group of nerdy writers, we’d love to have you. You can read more about the group here. We have in the group about one hundred writers who share about what encourages us, challenges us, and helps us honor the calling and craft.
Thanks for reading,
